Founded in April 2022 by Lisa Ottevanger, Mungbone is a custom art project rooted in the artistic depths of Amsterdam. With over twenty years of experience in the fashion, graphic and art domains, Lisa, a seasoned graphic artist and brand designer, has made her mark on countless clients and brands. Her first group exhibition graced IJKC Amsterdam in 2019 and formed the backdrop for an enchanting preview at GLUE

The title ‘SPEECHLESS MOTOKO‘ captures the deep feelings that washed over Lisa after a series of harrowing losses. Her journey as a custom painter took a poignant turn when she found solace in bestowing beauty on existing objects. This therapeutic process is translated into the featureless face of the art toy. MOTOKO – Resourceful Child bears her signature touch: a dance of organic motifs infused with meticulous care. The seamless flow of these patterns unfolds Lisa’s vision of a serene and harmonious world. Her creations tread the delicate line between figurative and abstract art, interweaving personality with graceful, blooming patterns.
